Anu Agarwal’s career has molded her into an ambitious entrepreneur with great social responsibility serving as an international design and Product design development consultant. She is president of her Dallas-based company, Shastra Home Inc, her nonprofit Living Dreams Foundation, & the Dallas-based nonprofit organization, Chetna, serving victims of domestic violence.
After obtaining two master of arts degrees: one in Organizational Communication from State University of New York at Albany and one in International Relations from Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India, she advocated the importance of trading responsibly and fairly with a focus on the advancement of women and women’s causes. Anu also conducted extensive consulting projects for the United Nations Development Fund for Women, World Bank-International Finance Corp. & U.S. Agency for International Development.
The Living Dreams foundation focuses on empowering women artisans in India & other developing nations started out as a corporate social responsibility project. Its growth comes the importance of trading responsibly & promoting women led livelihood programs, which led her to make recommendations to women-led producer groups in several African countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh & Bhutan.
