Bob is a member of the executive team and brings a wealth of leadership experience to Vancity. He was CEO of BC Hydro from November 2003 to December 2009, where he focused on achieving strong financial performance, leading environmental standards and building strong First Nations and stakeholder relationships. Previously Bob was the Chief Financial Officer of BC Hydro, and for five years he was Chief Financial Officer at Eldorado Gold Corporation. From 1987 to 1996, he was a partner with Price Waterhouse Coopers. Bob is also an Adjunct Professor at University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business, where he teaches a course on leadership.
Outside work, Bob is actively involved in the community and sits on several boards:
- Chair, Advisory Board, Lunapads;
- Chair, Sustainability Advisory Board, Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants;
- Director, Minerva Foundation for BC Women;
- Chair, Immigrant Employment Council of BC; and
- Member, Global Agenda Council on the New Energy Architecture, World Economic Forum.
Bob is also an Adjunct Professor at Royal Roads University on the topic of Values Based Leadership. He holds a Master of Arts from Cambridge University, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia and an ICD, Directors Education Program.
