Michelle Taylor

Michelle Taylor PicMichelle L. Taylor, CDE became the Diversity Procurement Director on February 1, 2013 for Cummins, Inc.

Michelle is responsible for managing and integrating more than $1.5B in diverse spend for Cummins global diversity procurement initiative. She leads the attainment of $1.5 billion in diverse spend for Cummins through benchmarking efforts, Tier 1/Tier 2 opportunities and collaboration with Cummins business units and area business organizations worldwide.  Michelle also manages the inclusion of more than 12 global diverse categories within the Cummins supply chain including small business categories supported by the Small Business Administration.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Purdue University and a Master of Science Management degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is certified in Lean Manufacturing Systems from the University of Kentucky’s Center for Robotics and Manufacturing Systems and is a Certified Diversity Executive (CDE). She has held a variety of leadership roles throughout her automotive career and is a former M/WBE entrepreneur.  Michelle received recognition for her entrepreneurial pursuits. She received the 2005 New Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Indianapolis Black Chamber of Commerce and the 2007 Achievement in Entrepreneurship Award from the Center for Leadership Development.

Michelle has served on the board of directors for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center in Indianapolis and the YWCA of Greater Indianapolis. She enjoys reading, exercising and participating as a community volunteer.
