Michael Bonner was appointed Senior Vice-President, B.C. & Yukon Division for BMO Bank of Montreal in February of 2014.
Mike has over 21 years’ of banking experience leading diverse businesses in BMO’s personal, commercial, specialized sales and corporate finance segments; gaining extensive knowledge of products, services and processes which allows him to excel at following BMO’s vision – to be the Bank that defines great customer experience.
He joined BMO in 2000 in Toronto and quickly assumed mandates of increasing complexity and scope in mortgage sales, business-to-business sales, and real estate finance, based out of Calgary.
In 2007, Mike received his first executive appointment as District Vice-President, Personal and Commercial Banking for Nova Scotia. In 2010 he was appointed as the Regional Vice-President, Commercial Banking for the Greater Toronto Area where he led a team in driving commercial market share and customer loyalty.
His passion for his clients and business is only matched by his desire to make his community a better place for his family, his employees and his clients. Mike is currently on the United Way of the Lower Mainland Campaign Cabinet and is a member of the BC Registered Disability Savings Plan Action Group.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and holds an MBA in Finance from Dalhousie University.
